| Summary, etc. | Cette étude s’interroge sur la nature des rapports souvent privilégiés qu’ont entretenus missionnaires capucins et voyageurs réformés à Ispahan. Elle soutient que les intérêts diplomatiques et commerciaux de la France en Perse ont prévalu sur les considérations confessionnelles. Cette priorité a favorisé la formation d’une alliance française, qui s’est imposée sur le terrain et a également constitué un modèle normatif. Trois configurations différentes sont examinées : la relation exemplaire entre Tavernier et les capucins, la mise à l’épreuve du modèle par les députés de la Compagnie française des Indes orientales et sa caducité à l’époque de Chardin. |

| Summary, etc. | This study examines the nature of the often-privileged relations between Capuchin missionaries and reformed Protestant travelers in Isfahan. It argues that the diplomatic and commercial interests of France in Persia took precedence over denominational considerations. This priority on their part favored the formation of a French alliance, which took hold on the ground and also formed a normative model. Three different configurations are examined: the exemplary relationship between Tavernier and the Capuchins, the testing of the model by the representatives of the French East India Company, and the end of the model by Chardin’s day. |
