| Summary, etc. | Premiers schémas européens et économie internationale durant l’entre-deux-guerresLe projet européen n’a pas été défini contre l’internationalisation puis la mondialisation économique mais comme partie de cette dernière. Il se définit comme un régionalisme au sein d’un projet universel que l’Europe a également porté. L’entre-deux-guerres se présente comme une période fondatrice de cette double réalité historique : recherche des voies de la reconstruction de l’Europe à travers l’affirmation de liens de solidarité économique, voire la définition d’un modèle social ; recherche difficile d’une articulation entre l’affirmation d’une identité économique européenne et la promotion du libre-échange universel ; premières tentatives régionales des années 1930 et conversion progressive des milieux libre-échangistes à la solution régionale. |

It was conceived as a kind of regionalism within a universal project which Europe also supported. The interwar period was the moment when this dual historical reality was born : looking for ways to rebuild Europe by asserting links of economic solidarity and by defining a social model ; the difficult search for the articulation between the affirmation of a European economic identity and the promotion of universal free trade ; the first regional attempts of the 1930s and the progressive conversion of free-traders to regionalism. |
