| Summary, etc. | L’adieu au gladiateur ? La mondialisation suscite de nombreux débats, mêlant les spécialistes des différentes disciplines, interrogeant son exceptionnalité, hésitant sur ses critères et sa définition. On essaie ici d’examiner son rapport à l’histoire, sa relation complexe aux jeux de domination et d’exclusion. On s’efforce surtout de concevoir une nouvelle grammaire des relations internationales : au-delà de la métaphore hobbesienne qui compare celles-ci à un combat de gladiateurs, la mondialisation nous introduit à de nouveaux acteurs, à de nouveaux principes de régulation, à une autre conception de la violence et de la sécurité. |

| Summary, etc. | L’adieu au gladiateur ? Globalization gives rise to much debate among specialists of several disciplines, questioning its exceptionalism, and hesitating over its criteria and definitions. We strive here to examine its link with history, and its complex relationship to the interplay between domination and exclusion. Most of all, we try to conceive a new framework of international relations : beyond the Hobbes metaphor which compares the new international relations with a gladiator’s struggle, globalization institutes new actors, new ways of regulation, and a new vision of violence and security. |
