| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | In the course of some 30 works posing as detective stories, Arthur Upfield developped a sociological approach of the Australian territory. Here, we are interested in his choosing as a recurrent subject anything that can be used to enclose or to obstruct: barriers, borders, fences, whether geographical, mental or spiritual, severing people into different groups and inevitably creating trouble, gray areas and secrets. We will follow the path taken by this Englishman who emigrated to a distant colony. He observed the encounter between foreigners and the natives and their reactions to nature, as difficult to grasp for one group as it was ancestrally clear for the others. We will try to understand the link uniting secrecy and physical or virtual enclosure. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
