| Summary, etc. | Entre le mythe aimable de Psyché et de Cupidon et celui, libérateur, de Mélusine, l’unique opéra de Béla Bartók, Le Château de Barbe-Bleue, propose, à travers le livret du poète Béla Balázs et la puissante création vocale et instrumentale du musicien hongrois, une interrogation sur l’amour et l’indiscrétion. Ce n’est pas par Barbe-Bleue que le malheur arrive mais par sa dernière épouse, Judith. Forçant « les portes du château » : violant l’intimité de celui qu’elle prétend aimer, elle se condamne elle-même aux ténèbres qu’elle voulait dissiper. |

| Summary, etc. | Situated between two myths, the amiable one of Psyche and Cupid and the liberating one of the fairy Melusine, Béla Bartók’s only opera, Bluebeard’s Castle, makes uses of poet Béla Balázs’s libretto and Bartók’s powerful vocal and instrumental composition to question love and indiscretion. The misfortune that happens is not due to Bluebeard but to his last wife Judith. In forcing open the “castle’s doors” and thus violating the privacy of the man she claims to love, Judith condemns herself to the darkness she wanted to dispell. |

Com efeito, a desgraça não é provocada por Barba Azul, mas sim pela sua última esposa, Judite : ao forçar “as portas do castelo”, violando a intimidade daquele que ama, condena-se a si própria às trevas que pretendia dissipar. |
