Summary, etc. Psychometric assessment of individuals with visual impairment is important in order to better understand the nature of their cognitive functioning and, more specifically, to identify potential difficulties or disorders they may face. This article presents the preliminary results obtained from a sample of 16 visually impaired children in a non-verbal reasoning test adapted from the Kohs block design test: the B101DV. The results reveal an effect of the level of visual functioning on the number of blocks correctly placed (but not on the completion time) in favor of visually impaired children compared to children who are legally blind or totally blind. These results are explained by the specific functional characteristics of visual and haptic (tactile-kinesthetic) perception. Finally, this study is discussed in relation to the broader problem of the impact of the heterogeneity of this population (age at onset, etiology) on test standardization.
