| Summary, etc. | À partir de la fin des années 1880, des femmes juives participent à l’émergence d’une « conscience féministe », en Europe, aux États-Unis, puis en Palestine. Certaines d’entre elles militent au sein de mouvements généraux, d’autres contribuent à la création d’organisations ayant pour point commun de rassembler des Juives, mais par ailleurs d’une grande diversité dans leurs revendications et ses positionnements. Quelque peu négligées par l’historiographie, ces femmes juives de la fin du xix e siècle tissent des liens, par-delà les frontières, et proposent un nouveau regard sur la place des femmes dans les communautés juives. Un peu en retrait à partir de la fin des années 1920, elles ouvrent néanmoins la voie à celles qui, dans les années 1960, entament un nouveau chapitre des luttes féministes, et contribuent à éclipser leurs aînées. |

| Summary, etc. | From the late 1880s onwards, Jewish women participated in the emergence of a “feminist consciousness” in Europe, the United States, and Palestine. Some of them chose general movements ; others chose to found Jewish organizations. The latter are characterized by their diversity of claims and positions. Neglected by historians, these Jewish women created a network of international relations and exchanges and provided a new vision of women’s place in Jewish communities. Although they lost ground from the 1920s onwards, they paved the way for Jewish women activists in the 1960s, who opened a new chapter in the history of feminist struggles, and in the process, inadvertently obscured the accomplishments of their predecessors. |
