| Summary, etc. | Les bateaux-jouets manufacturés apparaissent en France au milieu du xixe siècle pour la plus grande joie des enfants qui les font flotter sur les bassins des jardins urbains, en bord de mer ou sur les cours d’eau. Dans l’entre-deux-guerres, les petits bateaux connaissent une phase de démocratisation qui se renforce encore après 1960.Nous nous attacherons à montrer les usages sociaux et familiaux du bateau-jouet, entre outil de socialisation ou d’éducation et objet de distinction ou d’appartenance.La recherche s’appuiera essentiellement sur une analyse de type sémiologique (R. Barthes) et sémiotique (C. S. Peirce) de l’iconographie portant sur les bateaux-jouets organisée en catégories (photos de famille, scènes de jeu, publicités pour l’objet ou pour des marques sans lien avec les jouets ou encore des décors). |

| Summary, etc. | Manufactured toy boats appeared in France in the middle of the 19th century for the greater pleasure of children. Those make them float on the ponds of urban gardens, by the sea or on the rivers. In the inter-war period, small boats came across a stage of democratization that intensified even more after 1960.We will show the social and family uses of the toy boats, corresponding to a means of socialization or a form of education. In both cases, toy boats are used as a way of distinction or a sign of belonging.The research is based mainly on a semiological (R. Barthes) and semiotic (C. S. Peirce) analysis. It use an important iconographic collection about toy boats. These ressources are organized into categories (family photos, game scenes, advertising for the object or for brands unrelated to toys or sets). |
