520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Comparative analysis of private and public radio programming reveals that certain types of radio programming are entirely neglected on privately owned stations, namely documentaries and creative work in general (e.g., fiction, drama, non-fiction features, etc.). For some genres, such as fiction, this has not always been the case. Yet noting the absence of some genres on private stations should not overlook how little time they are actually allotted on the public airwaves. The dominant representation of radio is indeed that of live media, with often technically basic shows limited to discussion in studio or by telephone. While there is such a thing as a specificity of public radio as far as documentaries, fiction, and other creative output are concerned, these programs remain exceptions, and do not represent the bulk of programming.
