| Summary, etc. | The article examines the role of the two Soviet generations who grew up during the Khrushchev Thaw (Ottepel’) and Perestroika in making the Russian-Ukrainian war possible. Generational factors influencing support or rejection of government policies are considered. Based on long-term research on the generational history of the Soviet century and a corpus of interviews from the spring of 2022, the author demonstrates the importance of generational analysis in studying the trajectories of the evolution of Russia. The article also addresses the methodological problems of such analysis. |
