| Summary, etc. | Les thérapies complémentaires, ou interventions non médicamenteuses, sont de plus en plus utilisées en médecine. Dans ce champ, elles doivent avoir été étudiées par des travaux de recherche (fondamentale et clinique) et se positionner en complément des soins médicamenteux ou techniques, afin d’être intégrées dans les parcours de soins.En raison des nombreuses problématiques iatrogéniques chez le sujet âgé, les thérapies complémentaires trouvent toute leur place auprès de cette population, et plus spécifiquement dans les douleurs des soins.Le présent article se focalise sur quatre méthodes : l’aromathérapie, les thérapies par le massage, la musicothérapie et l’hypnose clinique et thérapeutique. Ces méthodes ont été étudiées chez le sujet jeune ou âgé dans le cadre des douleurs induites, et également dans le grand âge sur d’autres indications. Elles ont un rationnel scientifique, un effet clinique, et une utilisation sûre.Ces méthodes s’intègrent dans l’approche globale et humaine chère à la gériatrie. |

| Summary, etc. | Complementary therapies or non-pharmacological interventions are increasingly used in medicine. In this field, they must have been studied through research (fundamental and clinical) and be positioned as a complement to pharmacological or technical care in order to be integrated into care pathways.Due to the many iatrogenic problems in older people, complementary therapies are particularly relevant for this population, and more specifically for pain management.This article focuses on four methods: aromatherapy, massage therapy, music therapy, and clinical hypnosis. These four methods have been studied in young and elderly subjects in the context of induced pain and also in the elderly for other indications. They are clinically effective, scientifically explained, and safe to use.These methods are part of the holistic and human approach that is so important in geriatrics. |
