| Summary, etc. | Introduction : L’amélioration des pratiques professionnelles est un processus de démarche qualité qui vise à contrôler les pratiques en se référant aux études basées sur la preuve et aux standards académiques. Cette étude décrit la méthode développée dans un cadre hospitalo-universitaire pour améliorer le recueil des données cliniques en orthopédie dento-faciale (ODF). Matériel et méthodes : La méthode par cycle de Deming (PDCA) a été appliquée. Résultats : 1) Phase « PLAN » : une recherche bibliographique et deux enquêtes nationales et locales montrent que les pratiques de recueil des données cliniques en ODF ne sont pas standardisées ; 2) Phase « DO » : une liste d’indicateurs permettant de caractériser les malocclusions et dysmorphoses, ainsi que leurs effets fonctionnels et esthétiques a été établie, puis utilisée dans le service pendant cinq mois ; 3) Phase « CHECK » : l’usage et les limites de cet outil ont été analysés ; 4) Phase « ACT » : l’outil d’Évaluation de la Présence et des lmpacts Esthétiques et Fonctionnels des Malocclusions et des Dysmorphoses (EPIEF MaloDys) a été finalisé et les modalités de son implémentation définitive ont été précisées. Discussion : L’outil EPIEF MaloDys permet d’identifier l’existence de malocclusions ou de dysmorphoses ainsi que leurs effets esthétiques et fonctionnels, mais son implantation peut présenter certains éléments de résistance au changement. Conclusion : Cette étude participe à l’harmonisation des données cliniques en ODF et ce à des fins cliniques, pédagogiques et de recherche. |

| Summary, etc. | Introduction: Improving professional practice is a quality assurance process that aims to control practices by reference to evidence-based studies and academic standards. This study describes the method developed in a university hospital setting to improve the collection of clinical data in orthodontics. Material and Methods: The Deming cycle method (PDCA) was used. Results: 1) “PLAN” phase: A literature search and two national and local surveys were conducted to describe clinical data collection practices in orthodontics; 2) “DO” phase: A list of indicators to characterize malocclusions and dysmorphoses, as well as their functional and aesthetic effects, was drawn up in a digital format, then used in the orthodontic department for five months; 3) “CHECK” phase: The use and limitations of this tool were analyzed; 4) “ACT” phase: The form for “Evaluation of Malocclusions and Dysmorphoses and their Aesthetics and Functionals Effects” was finalized and the procedures for its implementation were specified. Discussion: The EPIEF MaloDys tool allows us to identify the existence of malocclusions or dysmorphoses and their aesthetic and functional effects, but its implementation may encounter some resistance to change. Conclusion: This study contributes to the harmonization of orthodontics clinical data for clinical, educational, and research purposes. |
