| Summary, etc. | La psammothérapie, également appelée psammatothérapie sablothérapie ou arénothérapie, est une thérapie thermale externe qui utilise la chaleur sèche lors de bains de sable. C’est une médecine traditionnelle pratiquée dans différentes régions du monde, notamment en Italie, au Portugal, en Afrique du Nord, en Asie et au Brésil. Elle peut être réalisée dans un environnement marin ou dans des centres dédiés pour les régions non côtières. Elle représente une ressource thérapeutique complémentaire pour les maladies chroniques rhumatismales et respiratoires, comme la broncho-pneumopathie chronique obstructive. Les mécanismes d’action rapportés sont liés à l’effet thermique, la composition physicochimique du sable utilisé et l’action du climat marin. |
