| Summary, etc. | An experimental study conducted in a semi-natural outdoor environment has two complementary objectives: first, to compare the risk perception for children with hemophilia, for children without hemophilia, and for their respective parents; second, to investigate the impact of this risk perception on the behavior and real activities of children. Eighteen children with hemophilia, twenty-one children without hemophilia, and their parents were asked to assess the perceived risks in a semi-natural environment in urban areas by using a continuous rating scale. Then, activities and children navigating and playing in the same semi-natural environment were collected by a GPS system fitted to each child. The results showed that children with hemophilia overestimate the risks and are more engaged in activities without interacting with other children. Similarly, parents of children with hemophilia (mothers and fathers) overestimate the risks and consider that the main dangers come from other children. Theoretical and methodological implications are then discussed. |
