| Summary, etc. | L’anniversaire des lois françaises de 1905 montre à quel point reste vif le débat sur la laïcité, et combien il reste difficile pour les Églises de penser ce débat en lui-même et pas seulement en fonction de ses répercussions religieuses. Pour aider à cette objectivation du débat, deux mises en perspective font saisir l’instabilité théorique d’une laïcité divisée entre concept de la raison pure et idée de la raison historique. Ces deux perspectives se croisent autour d’une crise de la citoyenneté : c’est sans doute par rapport à cette crise qu’il revient aujourd’hui à la tradition chrétienne de recevoir théologiquement la question de la laïcité. |

| Summary, etc. | On the occasion of the anniversary of the promulgation of the French laws of 1905, the A. evokes the topicality of the debate concerning secularism, and the difficulty encountered by the Church to focus on that debate without reference to its religious connotation. In order to throw an objective light on the question, we ought to take into consideration the theoretical instability of a secularism which has to deal with two viewpoints : pure reason and historical consideration. These two views meet around a citizenship crisis, a crisis which invites the Church to offer a theological solution to the problem of secularism. |
