| Summary, etc. | RésuméNotre objectif est de mesurer la fréquence et la permanence, ou la mobilité, des lignées patronymiques au cours des trois derniers siècles dans la société rurale savoyarde. La propriété foncière ancienne est connue grâce au cadastre de 1738 et les fréquences patronymiques par les comptages dans les registres paroissiaux et d’état civil. La mobilité des lignées patronymiques est différentielle selon que ces patronymes sont associés, ou non, à la propriété foncière. Entre 1710 et 1940 on assiste à un renouvellement très important du stock patronymique des communes rurales. Dans leur majorité, les noms présents au début du xviiie siècle ont disparu ultérieurement, mais les noms apparus au cours du xixe siècle se sont rarement maintenus. Les patronymes des propriétaires, définis selon le cadastre sarde de 1738, présentent une plus grande continuité temporelle, traduisant ainsi une certaine pérennité géographique de la lignée attachée initialement à la propriété foncière. |

| Summary, etc. | In this paper, we are trying to measure the frequency and permanence or mobility of patronymic lineages in the rural society of Savoie over the last three centuries. Landed property in the past is known thanks to the preservation of the cadastral register of 1738, and the frequency of patronyms can be computed through their occurences in parochial or civil registers. Patronym mobility varies according to the presence or absence of associated landholdings. From 1710 to 1940, there was a wholesale transformation of the original patronymic sets found in rural communitites. Most of the names which could be found at the beginning of the xviiith century eventually disappeared, but the names which appeared in the records at the beginning of the xixth century also rarely survived to this day. However, the names of landholders appearing as such in the 1738 cadastral registry are more stable over time, which means that lineages initially linked to landholding enjoyed higher geographical continuity throughout the period. |
