520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The question of the “Indian worlds,” chosen for the ENS 2026 exam, raises issues of unity and diversity within a macro-region encompassing India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. The expression refers to a British colonial legacy that shaped an artificial cohesion through administration, infrastructure, and economic exploitation. This legacy gave way to a mosaic of independent states with asymmetrical relationships. This region is undergoing major transitions: the rise of India, rapid urbanization, unequal metropolitan development, and vulnerabilities linked to climate change. India exerts a dominant influence over the region, but its hegemony is contested by its neighbours and by China, which is highly present through strategic investments. This raises the question of the complexity of a regional unit, which is a matter of debate.
