| Summary, etc. | Cet article entend montrer comment l’approche par le détail (des situations, des actions) permet de comprendre la violence éducative comme un continuum, des maltraitances aux micro-violences. Il s’agit de montrer que les violences, y compris les plus sévères et graves, passent toujours par des micro-violences, ou plus exactement par des détails. Le détail qui tue, comme le dit le langage ordinaire, au sens propre, participe ainsi d’une mécanique plus large s’appuyant sur le minuscule pour justifier, amplifier la violence, ou encore la construire comme une démarche totalisante de contrôle sur les corps et les esprits. Cet article, de facture philosophique, se fondera principalement sur des références théoriques pour comprendre la mécanique de la violence ; il s’articulera néanmoins à quelques illustrations pratiques issues d’entretiens pour mieux saisir comment le détail participe systématiquement des violences éducatives, comme manière de justifier son déclenchement, mais également comme organisation oppressive. |

| Summary, etc. | The aim of this paper is to show how a detailed approach (to situations and actions) enables us to understand educational violence as a continuum, from abuse to micro-violence. The aim is to show that violence, including the most severe and serious, always involves micro-violence, or more precisely, is put in place by details. The “devil is in details” (word for word translation in French: “the detail that kills”), as the ordinary language puts it, in the literal sense, is part of a wider mechanism that relies on the minuscule to justify and amplify violence, or to construct it as a totalising process of control over bodies and minds. This philosophical article will be based mainly on theoretical references to understand the mechanics of violence; it will nevertheless include a few practical illustrations from interviews to better understand how detail systematically participates in educational violence, as a way of justifying its outbreak, but also as an oppressive organisation. |
