Summary, etc. Le masque a deux faces, devant et derrière : d’un côté, il cache la vérité pour sauvegarder sa propre profondeur et, de l’autre, c’est un moyen pour ne pas voir la réalité et la fuir. Il cache mais, en même temps, il communique, même involontairement souvent, et conduit au monde de celui qui le porte. Nous décrivons quelques passages cliniques qui illustrent l’Imaginaire de Lara. Celle-ci prend conscience de la manière dont elle sait se montrer aux autres tout en se cachant derrière un masque ; un masque qui change et déforme sa propre identité. Lara en arrive à se dire : « Dans ma vie, je n’ai cessé de me maquiller et montrer à l’autre une partie de moi qui toutefois cachait tout un autre monde et une autre personne. Le visage maquillé est un visage qui change provisoirement, mais la figure qui se cache sous le maquillage ne change pas. Le fard transforme, embellit pour satisfaire, ne pas décevoir et pour plaire. Le masque au contraire ne laisse rien passer, il cache. Sous le masque, tu peux être n’importe quoi ».

Summary, etc. In front of and behind the mask The mask has two faces, front and back : on one side, it hides the truth to protect its own depth, and on the other one, it is a way not to see reality and to escape it. It hides, but at the same time, it communicates, often involuntarily, and leads to the world of whoever wears it. We are describing here a few clinical segments illustrating Laura’s imaginary. She becomes aware of the way in which she shows herself to others when she only hides behind a mask ; a mask that changes and distorts her own identity. Laura ends up saying : « In my life, I never stopped disguising myself, and showing to others a part of me which hid a whole world, and a whole different person. A made-up face is a face that changes temporarily, but the face under the make-up does not change. Cosmetics transform, embellish in order to satisfy, to avoid disappointment, and to please. On the opposite, the mask does not allow any suggestion, it hides. Under the mask, you can be anything. »

Summary, etc. Davanti e dietro la maschera La maschera presenta un davanti e un dietro : da un lato, nasconde la verità per salvaguardare la propria profondità e, dall’altro, è un mezzo per non vedere la realtà e sfuggire ad essa. Nasconde, ma nel contempo comunica, seppur spesso involontariamente, ed introduce nel mondo di chi la indossa. Tracciamo alcuni passaggi clinici esemplificativi dell’Immaginario di Laura che prende consapevolezza di come sappia mostrarsi all’altro solo nascondendosi dietro una maschera, che altera e falsa la propria identità, e che giunge a dirsi : « Nella mia vita non ho fatto altro che truccarmi e far vedere all’altro una parte di me che però nascondeva tutto un altro mondo e un’altra persona. Il volto truccato è un volto che cambia temporaneamente, ma la figura al di sotto del trucco non cambia. Il trucco trasforma, abbellisce per compiacere, non deludere e piacere. La maschera invece non fa trapelare nulla, nasconde. Sotto la maschera puoi essere qualsiasi cosa. »
