| Summary, etc. | L’article porte sur le destin du peintre soviétique Gariff Basyrov (1944-2004) et sur ses tentatives de reconstruire, au moyen de l’art, l’expérience perdue de sa propre naissance et petite enfance au sein du Goulag. Quand nous pensons aux œuvres d’art crées dans le cadre d’un système autoritaire, on peut mobiliser la notion de l’idéologie apophatique (J.Clair), l’idéologie effaçant les traits individuels, jusqu’à privation de la vie même. Cet effacement de traits personnels apparaissait dans certaines pratiques des régimes totalitaires. Le visage comme symbole de l’individu s’efface pour devenir un masque mortuaire. Amnésique vis-à-vis de son expérience personnelle, Gariff fait le parcours ontologique de restitution de la dignité de visage humain (E. Levinas) pour passer au dialogue avec l’Autre. Pour étudier le travail de construction mémoriel, individuel et collectif, je m’appuierai sur les œuvres laissées par G. Basyrov et sur les interviews avec les proches de G. Basyrov. |

| Summary, etc. | The present article is dedicated to the life of the Soviet painter Gariff Basyrov (1944-2004) and to his attempts to revive in memory, by means of art, the lost experience of his birth and childhood in Gulag. When we think of works of art, created in a totalitarian regime, we can refer to the concept of “apophatic ideology” (J. Clair) ; the ideology that wipes away individual traits, up to killing the whole person. We can see this annihilation of individuality appears in some practices of totalitarian regimes. The face, as a symbol of of individuality gives way to being replaced by a death mask. Amnesic towards his personal experience, Gariff made by means of his art an ontological pathway of reconstructing the human face’s dignity (E. Levinas) for passing to dialog with the Other. For studying this work of a memory reconstruction, collective and individual, we based our study on the works left by Basyrov and on the interviews with G. Basyrov’s relatives. |

| Summary, etc. | El artículo se interesa en el destino del pintor soviético Gariff Basyrov (1944-2004) y en sus tentativas de reconstruir, por medio del arte, la experiencia perdida de su propio nacimiento y de su infancia temprana en un Goulag. Cuando pensamos en las obras de arte creadas en el contexto de un sistema autoritario, la noción de la ideología apofática (J. Clair) que borra las características individuales hasta el extremo de una privación de la vida misma, es pertinente. Esta negación de los rasgos personales aparece en ciertas prácticas de los regímenes totalitarios. El rostro como símbolo del individuo se borra para volverse una máscara mortuoria. Con una amnesia de su experiencia personal, Gariff hace el recorrido ontológico de restitución de la dignidad del rostro humano (E. Levinas) para pasar al diálogo con el Otro. Para estudiar el tarbajo de construcción de memoria, individual y colectivo, me apoyaré en las obras realizadas por G. Basyrov y en las entrevistas con personas cercanas a él. |
