| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | In Senegal, sexual abuse to children has become less taboo and is increasingly publicized. We often discover past sexual abuse in adolescents and adults consulting for mood or sexual identity disorders and addictive behaviors. These patients did not receive any psychological treatment because parents have quickly « forgotten » this event. Thus, recovery is impossible: judicial redress has not been triggered and there’s no family recognition of the harm and trauma. The reactions of parents can promote or block the « healing. » process The unsupported child can feel resentment towards his parents. The request for clarification is still pending and will influence the psychological make-up of the future adult and the quality of his relationship with his parents. The silence of these individuals is generally underpinned by socio-cultural considerations, such as the judgment of others, resignation, the divine will. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
