| Summary, etc. | C’est en accueillant régulièrement le concept d’inquiétante étrangeté au sein de notre travail clinique en psychologie périnatale que nous nous sommes interrogés sur le vécu particulier de la femme qui bénéficie d’un don d’ovocytes à l’étranger. Celle-ci porte en elle un bébé qui lui est génétiquement étranger. Les techniques de l’assistance médicale à la procréation permettent désormais à des femmes infertiles de devenir mères, et parfois les couples sont amenés à aller dans un pays étranger pour réaliser leur désir de parentalité. Néanmoins, cette démarche ne laisse pas le couple et en particulier la mère, indemnes. C’est en explicitant le parcours migratoire de ces femmes en quête d’ovocytes que nous mettrons en lumière les fantasmes associés à cette histoire singulière. Nous nous demanderons dans quelle mesure ces enjeux psychiques sont-ils actifs dans le vécu de la grossesse et quelle place prennent-ils lors de la rencontre avec leur bébé au moment du séjour à la maternité. |

| Summary, etc. | In the light of the concept of the “Uncanny” in the context of our clinical practice in perinatal psychology, we sought a better understanding of the psychological experiences that women go through when receiving oocytes from abroad. These women bear babies who are genetically foreign to them. Today, assisted reproduction technology enables infertile women to become mothers. Couples sometimes have to travel abroad to fulfil their desire for parenthood. Nevertheless, this approach does not leave couples and in particular mothers unscathed. By exploring the migratory trajectory of women seeking access to oocytes, we attempted to shed light on the fantasies associated with their singular experience. We wondered to what extent psychological issues played an active role in these women’s experiences of their ensuing pregnancy and what place these issues held when they met their baby for the first time during their stay in the maternity ward. |

| Summary, etc. | En nuestro trabajo clínico en psicología perinatal nos hemos cuestionado la experiencia particular de las mujeres que se benefician de la donación de óvulos en el extranjero. Este cuestionamiento pasa por frecuentes referencias al concepto de extrañeza inquietante. Estas mujeres llevan en ellas un bebé que les es genéticamente ajeno. Las técnicas de Procreación Médicamente Asistida permiten que las mujeres infértiles se conviertan en madres, y en ocasiones las parejas tienen que ir a un país extranjero para cumplir su deseo de paternidad. Sin embargo, este proceso no deja indemne a la pareja y en particular a la madre. Es explicando el viaje migratorio de estas mujeres en busca de ovocitos que clarificamos las fantasías asociadas a esta singular historia. Nos preguntaremos en qué medida estas cuestiones psíquicas están activas en la experiencia del embarazo y qué lugar ocupan en el encuentro con su bebé durante la estancia en la maternidad. |
