| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | New management methods, matrix structures and operating in transversal projects make managers take on new responsibilities. As a result they more and more often state that they experience stress. This leads companies to resort to coaches.Indeed, over the past years executives, project managers or division heads have frequently asked for individual help coming under the general heading of coaching. Training coaches has developed and consequently brought the need for supervising coaches.Who are these coaches ? What is expected from them ? How do they come up to these expectations ? Why and at what stage do coaches in their turn look for supervision ? These are the questions we ask ourselves. The present article describes several examples of supervisory practices. It identifies the main points and the grid of analysis on which this work is grounded, being at the crossroads of several fields of knowledge, focusing on the links between institutional, professional and personal dimensions.Approached through clinical psycho-sociology, supervising coaches ideally helps to lend an ear to suffering and allows executives to get rid of their guilt. It also helps to reintroduce collective functioning by recreating work structures incorporating more solidarity and cooperation. Psycho-sociologists have a role ready for them ! |
