| Summary, etc. | L’étude récente des collections lapidaires d’Autun, en Saône-et-Loire, a permis de mettre en évidence un ensemble de fragments de vasques à deux pieds en dalle rectangulaire. Ces vasques correspondent à un modèle qui reste jusqu’à présent méconnu en Gaule, alors qu’il est connu en Grèce et dans le monde romain, mais sans avoir encore bénéficié d’une étude exhaustive. Retrouvé en contexte public (thermes) ou privé ( domus, villa), ce type de mobilier, souvent taillé dans des matériaux luxueux, répondait à des principes de positionnement et de fonctionnement encore observables dans les exemplaires, remarquablement conservés, des demeures pompéiennes. |

| Summary, etc. | Rectangular slab basins in the Autun collections (Saône-et-Loire). An unrecognised type of stone furniture. Recent study of the stone collections of Autun, in Saône-et-Loire, yields fragmentary evidence for two-footed stone basins standing on rectangular slab. These basins correspond to a model so far unknown in Gaul, but known in the Greek and Roman worlds. It has never been carefully studied. This type of furniture, found in public contexts (baths) or private (house or villa), and often worked in precious materials, corresponds with the principles of placing and function still to be observed in well preserved examples in Pompeian houses. |
