| Summary, etc. | Dans les textes versifiés (métriques), les relations entre structure syntaxique et structure métrique sont très largement gouvernées par un principe de congruence. Ce principe participe avec d’autres de la situation que l’on appelle généralement concordance, dans laquelle l’association des expressions linguistiques avec la forme métrique est décrite comme « naturelle ». Après avoir donné une définition de la congruence, cet article explique pourquoi deux propriétés liées à la congruence – la localité et la coextensivité des constituants métriques finaux –, permettent de produire un tel effet de « naturel ». |

| Summary, etc. | In metrical verse, the relationship between syntactic structure and metrical structure is for the most part governed by a principle of congruence. This principle, along with others, contributes to the situation generally referred to as concordance, where the association of linguistic expressions with the metrical form is described as natural. After defining congruence, this article explains why two properties related to congruence –locality and coextensivity of the final metrical constituents– allow such a natural effect to be produced. |
