| Summary, etc. | RésuméLongtemps négociés pour des sommes négligeables à nos yeux, les objets d’art primitif ont une valeur marchande qui ne cesse d’augmenter, du fait de leur entrée dans l’art classé et de leur rareté croissante. L’ethnologue, attentive aux discours et aux pratiques des acteurs dans leur vécu quotidien, ne peut ni ne veut répondre à la question triviale mais centrale : « Combien cela vaut-il ? », mais elle peut, en analysant les « biographies » des objets, saisir les interactions pendant lesquelles ces « choses » susceptibles d’entrer en collection deviennent « sujets » de désir de la part des amateurs et acquièrent leur valeur marchande. C’est à partir d’entretiens de marchands, courtiers et collectionneurs parisiens (Paris étant une place de renommée mondiale pour les échanges concernant ces objets) que l’on tentera de répondre à la question de la mise en valeur (à tous les sens du terme) de ces objets venus d’ailleurs. |

| Summary, etc. | Primitive art objects that have long been sold for derisory sums are getting more and more expensive owing to their entry into classified art and to their ever growing rarity. The ethnologist who pays attention to discourses and practices of art market actors in their daily life cannot and does not want to answer the trivial but central question : « how much is it worth ? » ; but when analyzing the histories of these objects she can seize the interactions by which these « things » liable to enter a collection become objects of desire for art lovers and acquire a market value. From her interviews with Parisian art dealers, brokers, collectors (Paris is a world-famous exchange place of art objects) the authorin tries to answer the question of the valorization of these objects coming from somewhere else. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungPrimitive Kunstgegenstände, die lange für unbedeutende Summen verkauft wurden, haben infolge ihrer Einordnung in die klassifizierte Kunst und ihrer immer wachsenden Rarität einen immer grösseren Marktwert bekommen. Die Ethnologin, die auf die Reden und Praktiken der Kunstmarktaktoren in ihrem täglichen Leben aufmerksam ist, kann nicht und will nicht die triviale aber zentrale Frage beantworten : « Wieviel kostet das ? » Bei der Analyse der Geschichte dieser Gegenstände kann sie doch die Interaktionen begreifen, durch welche diese « Dinge », die in eine Sammlung eintreten können, das Begehren von Kunstliebhabern erregen und einen Marktwert bekommen. Ausgehend von Gesprächen, die sie mit Pariser Käufern, Maklern, Sammlern (Paris ist ein weltbekannter Platz für die Austäusche solcher Kunstgegenstände) gehabt hat, versucht die Autorin die Frage der Aufwertung dieser von woanders her kommenden Gegenstände zu beantworten. |
