| Summary, etc. | RésuméPour l’ethnologie de l’entreprise, l’immersion par l’occupation d’un poste de travail est une méthode privilégiée. Comment un ethnologue, dans cette situation d’enquête particulière, arrive-t-il à mener sa recherche lorsqu’il est pris dans un conflit social ? L’auteur montre, à partir d’une expérience ethnographique dans une entreprise de transports en commun, à Marseille en 1995, que la « neutralité » (par rapport aux acteurs de la grève) n’est obtenue que par l’engagement, par l’acte de se déclarer gréviste. Cependant, cette « neutralité » est d’emblée instrumentalisée, du fait de l’incompréhension de la posture de l’ethnologue par les informateurs. Cette situation devient intenable à son apogée, mais n’en demeure pas moins heuristique. |

But how to carry out one’s research work when the company is confronted with a social conflict ? The authorin starts from her ethnographic experience in a common transport company of Marseille in 1995 to show that « neutrality » (with regard to the striking actors) requires commitment, that is declaring herself on strike. But this « neutrality » is instrumentalized at once owing to the informants’ incomprehension of the ethnologist’s position. This situation at its peak becomes unbearable but is nonetheless heuristic. |

Wie kann sie doch ihre Forschung durchführen, wenn sie dort in einen sozialen Konflikt hineingezogen wird ? Auf der Basis ihrer ethnographischen Erfahrung in einem öffentlichen Verkehrsunternehmen in Marseille in 1995 zeigt die Autorin, dass die « Neutralität » (den Streikakteuren gegenüber) nur durch Verpflichtung möglich ist, das heisst dadurch, dass sie sich als Streikende erklärt. Doch wird diese Neutralität sofort instrumentalisiert, weil die Haltung der Ethnologin von ihren Informanten nicht verstanden wird. Diese Situation wird an ihrer Höhepunkt unerträglich, aber sie bleibt nichtsdestoweniger heuristisch. |
