| Summary, etc. | RésuméCertaines boîtes de nuit parisiennes mettent en scène l’ostentation de la richesse, la célébrité médiatique et les canons dominants de la beauté féminine. Pour les populations sensibles à ces critères de réussite sociale, ces lieux sont de véritables « paradis sociaux ». À partir d’une enquête de terrain et d’entretiens, cette étude montre les conditions de production et le fonctionnement de cette forme particulière d’enchantement social. Un cadre luxueux et une sélection drastique contribuent à perpétuer la croyance dans la magie des lieux. Pour ceux qui y ont accès, la contrepartie de leur élection est un autocontrôle relativement fort. |

| Summary, etc. | Some Parisian nightclubs stage ostentatious wealth, mediatic celebrity and the prevailing canons of feminine beauty. People sensitive to these criteria of social success regard these places as true « social paradises ». Based on fieldwork and interviews this ethnographic study shows under which conditions this peculiar form of social enchantment is produced and operates. A luxurious setting and a drastic selection of people to the entrance contribute to perpetuate the magic of the place. For those who have access to it the counterpart of their selection is a relatively strong self-control. |

Diese ethnographische Studie zeigt unter welchen Umständen diese eigentümliche Form der sozialen Zauberung produziert wird und funktioniert.
