| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa famille est un lieu paradoxal où se rencontrent des violences. Il s’agit, selon une perspective d’histoire du droit, de cerner celles infligées au mari par sa femme. Le mari battu, figure le plus souvent caricaturale, apparaît comme un état de faiblesse réprimée du xiie au xviie siècle, puis un état de souffrance qu’il convient de taire du xviiie siècle à nos jours. Les normes juridiques, les recours au procès et les discours sociaux permettent ici de tracer la généalogie des perceptions du mari battu. |

| Summary, etc. | Family is paradoxically a place of violence. The author tries to define from the perspective of law history the violences inflicted by a woman to her husband. As a most often caricatured figure the battered husband is perceived as a man in a state of weakness that is socially punished in the 12th-17th century, then in a state of suffering that must remain concealed from the 18th century to our days. Juridical norms, trials and the social discourses they induce enable to trace the evolution with time of the social perception of battered husbands. |

Aus einer Rechtsperspektive handelt es sich darum, die Gewalttaten zu bestimmen, die eine Frau gegen ihren Mann begeht. Als eine meistens karikirierte Figur erscheint der geprügelte Ehemann in einem Zustand von Schwäche, die im12.-17. Jahrhundert von der Gesellschaft bestraft wird, dann in einem Zustand von Leiden, das vom 18. Jahrhundert bis heutzutage geschwiegen werden muss. Die rechtlichen Normen, die Prozesse und die daraus resultierenden sozialen Reden ermöglichen, die Änderung mit der Zeit der sozialen Wahrnehmung des geprügelten Ehemanns zu verfolgen. |
