| Summary, etc. | Résumé Cette recherche se concentre sur quatre films qui permettent l’étude des paysages du catastrophisme climatique dans le cinéma grand public : Soleil vert de Richard Fleischer, Le jour d’après de Roland Emmerich, Une vérité qui dérange de Davis Guggenheim et Un jour sur terre d’Alastair Fothergill et Mark Linfield. Ces films appartiennent à des genres différents : film d’anticipation, film catastrophe, conférence filmée et genre documentaire. Il s’agit d’étudier l’évolution du traitement des paysages dans ces films depuis les années 1970, et de comprendre le passage de l’angoisse d’une terre surpeuplée à la vision d’une planète sanctuarisée et vide d’êtres humains. |

| Summary, etc. | “Climatic catastrophism” in the commercial cinema This research precisely focuses on four movies, which allow a study of the global warming catastrophes, throughout the consumer cinema : Soylent Green, by Richard Fleischer, The Day After Tomorrow, by Roland Emmerich, An Inconvenient Truth, by Davis Guggenheim, and Planet Earth, by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield. Theses movies however belong to several types : science fiction, disaster, lecture, and documentary. To study how landscapes are represented in those movies shows a new mythology emerging on global warming, based on a specific representation of urban and rural landscapes. It shows how the fear of an overcrowded earth has become an empty planet, a no man’s land. |
