| Summary, etc. | RésuméPourquoi la lutte antitabac rencontre-t-elle une résistance particulièrement forte parmi les fumeurs pauvres ? Cet article propose des éléments de réponse à partir de trente et un entretiens approfondis réalisés avec des fumeurs en situation de précarité. Souvent marginalisés, les fumeurs pauvres sont moins exposés aux effets de la mise au ban du tabagisme et d’autant plus attachés à la cigarette qu’elle constitue un jalon de leur socialisation familiale et professionnelle. En outre, la critique de la lutte antitabac leur permet parfois de se réinscrire dans un projet collectif. Pour ces fumeurs privés d’argent, de loisirs, et souvent isolés, vivant ancrés dans un présent sans avenir, la cigarette constitue souvent l’un des derniers plaisirs de l’existence, l’occasion d’en soulager provisoirement les tensions, et aussi le moyen de restaurer un lien social qui se délite. |

| Summary, etc. | Why should be poor smokers so reluctant to quit smoking ? This problem has been investigated through in-depth interviews conducted with smokers living in precarious conditions. As they were frequently marginalised, these smokers were less exposed to the processes of outlawing cigarette smoking. Smoking also constituted a strong element of their family and professional socialisation. For some of them, developing a critical discourse on prevention was a way to join a collective project. For these people with no leisure activities, frequently isolated, with lives rooted in the present, smoking was one of their last pleasure, a means of relief from stress, as well as a way to restore social ties. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungWarum stößt die Anti-Raucherkampagne gerade bei armen Rauchern auf so massiven Widerstand ? Der Artikel versucht dieser Frage, anhand von 31 Interviews mit Rauchern aus sozialschwachen Milieus, auf den Grund zu gehen. Da sie gesellschaftlich oftmals benachteiligt sind, sind arme Raucher meist weniger über die Risiken des Tabakkonsums informiert ; zudem sind sie meist abhängiger, da die Zigarette ihre familiäre und berufliche Sozialisation prägt. Zudem solidarisieren arme Raucher sich durch ihre Kritik an der Anti-Raucher-Politik. Für die hier beschriebenen mittel-, hobbylosen und einsamen Raucher, die in einer Gegenwart ohne Zukunft feststecken, ist die Zigarette oftmals eines der wenigen Vergnügen oder eine Gelegenheit für einen Augenblick zu entspannen und eben auch Mittel soziale Kontakte zu knüpfen. |
