| Summary, etc. | Background: The relationship between hospital and outpatient medicine is an essential lever for improving the coordination of care. However, it remains weakened by persistent difficulties in communication and mutual recognition. Against this backdrop, local joint training initiatives appear to be a way of strengthening interprofessional links and smoothing patient pathways. Method: A qualitative study was conducted at the Centre Hospitalier du Forez (Loire), based on two joint training evenings organized in 2023 and 2024. Data were collected using focus groups and individual interviews. Results: In addition to their educational role, these training courses acted as a catalyst for relationships. They reduced apprehension, facilitated exchanges, and legitimized reciprocal requests between general practitioners and hospital doctors. Conviviality, geographical proximity, and local roots were seen as determining factors. Several participants reported changes in their practices, including better coordination of prescriptions and smoother referrals. Conclusion: These training courses are a practical tool for breaking down the barriers between hospital and outpatient medicine. If they are to be sustainable, they will need to be built on a more balanced basis, with greater involvement of outpatient doctors, and supported by official recognition. |
