| Summary, etc. | Une jument de 19 ans, type Camargue, est présentée pour une modification de l’aspect de l’œil droit, évoluant depuis six mois, sans perte de vision. L’examen clinique révèle une buphtalmie et une hypertonie oculaire (55 mmHg), sans atteinte du segment postérieur ni signes d’uvéite. Un glaucome primaire est suspecté sur des critères épidémiologiques et cliniques. Une cyclophotocoagulation trans-sclérale au laser diode (TSCP) est réalisée sous anesthésie générale. Un traitement médical postopératoire par brinzolamide et vitamine A est instauré. Une amélioration rapide est observée avec stabilisation de la pression intraoculaire (PIO) dans des valeurs physiologiques durant la durée du suivi, de trois ans. Le glaucome est caractérisé par une élévation de la PIO, portant ainsi atteinte à l’intégrité et au fonctionnement de la rétine et du nerf optique. La TSCP vise à détruire le corps ciliaire, et donc à améliorer le contrôle de la PIO par diminution de la sécrétion d’humeur aqueuse. Son intérêt dans la prise en charge du glaucome chez le cheval a été démontré par des études sur animaux sains et atteints de glaucome. Certaines complications (hyphéma, uvéite, décollement rétinien) sont toutefois décrites. D’autres techniques, comme la TSCP micropulsée ou la cyclophotocoagulation au laser diode par voie endoscopique existent, mais leur efficacité reste à confirmer. |

| Summary, etc. | A 19-year-old Camargue-type mare was presented with a modification in the appearance of the right eye, evolving over six months, without vision loss. Clinical examination revealed buphthalmia and ocular hypertension (55 mmHg), without posterior segment involvement or signs of uveitis. Based on epidemiological and clinical criteria, primary glaucoma was suspected. Trans-scleral cyclophotocoagulation (TSCP) using a diode laser was performed under general anaesthesia. Postoperative medical treatment with brinzolamide and vitamin A was initiated. Rapid improvement was observed, with intraocular pressure (IOP) stabilisation within physiological values over the three-year follow-up period. Glaucoma is characterised by elevated IOP, which compromises retinal and optic nerve function. TSCP aims to destroy the ciliary body, thereby improving IOP control. Its role in equine glaucoma management has been demonstrated through studies on both healthy and glaucomatous eyes. However, complications such as hyphema, uveitis, and retinal detachment have been reported. Alternative techniques, including micropulsed TSCP and endoscopic diode laser cyclophotocoagulation, exist, but their efficacy remains to be confirmed. |
