| Summary, etc. | RésuméSi, rétrospectivement, la période des Trente Glorieuses (1945-1975) apparaît comme tout à fait exceptionnelle dans le cours du développement du capitalisme, au point, qu’à bien des égards, elle fait même figure d’anomalie historique, le rôle que les deux guerres mondiales du XXe siècle et les transformations durables dont elles ont été à l’origine ont joué sur cette phase de croissance demeurent, aujourd’hui encore, fortement sous-estimés par les économistes. La thèse défendue dans cet article est que les deux conflits mondiaux ont joué un rôle tout à fait déterminant dans la transformation du capitalisme et dans la genèse et la mise en place du nouveau cadre institutionnel qui a piloté les régimes de croissance après 1945. |

| Summary, etc. | Abstract « Wars, transformation of capitalism and economic growth »In retrospect, the thirty-year boom period after World War II (1945-1975) sounds quite exceptional in the course of the development of capitalism, so that in many respects, it can be looked as a historical abnormality. The two world wars in the 20 th century and the lasting changes that they originated have played a major role in that growth period, but this role has been, until now, highly underestimated by the economists. This paper advocates the thesis that the two world conflicts were an absolutely deciding factor in the transformation of capitalism and in the birth and implementation of the new institutional background which has surrounded the growth regimes after 1945. |
