| Summary, etc. | La scène de crime, encore peu étudiée en sciences de gestion, constitue un champ d’activité particulier, restreint, mais d’une extrême complexité. Sa gestion revêt une importance capitale dans la résolution des affaires criminelles. La présence d’experts et de techniciens de l’identification criminelle, agissant selon des protocoles très formalisés, est désormais indispensable à la résolution des affaires criminelles. S’appuyant sur une observation participante au sein de la gendarmerie marocaine et sur l’étude d’un cas de meurtre par arme à feu, cette recherche analyse les relations de coopération et de concurrence entre acteurs, combinant l’autonomie professionnelle des experts de la scène de crime et la culture militaire, d’une part, et une logique d’action articulant prises d’initiatives individuelles et respect des protocoles, d’autre part. Dans un espace limité – la scène de crime – la conciliation entre respect des codes de procédure, primauté du principe hiérarchique et nécessaire indépendance des acteurs de terrain, tels les gendarmes spécialistes de l’identification criminelle, fait émerger un modèle hybride de gestion. Celui-ci repose sur un réaménagement du principe hiérarchique, conséquence directe des impératifs opérationnels et de la recherche constante de fiabilité. Cette torsion demeure toutefois contenue et régulée par la culture militaire, qui en fixe les limites et en assure le cadre. L’analyse de la scène de crime met ainsi en lumière la relation entre principe hiérarchique et autonomie des acteurs : deux logiques en apparence opposées, mais qui, en réalité, s’articulent dans une collaboration hybride, orientée vers l’élucidation du crime et la quête d’une fiabilité maximale. |

| Summary, etc. | The crime scene, still underexplored in management sciences, represents a unique domain of activity that is narrowly defined yet highly complex. Its effective management is of paramount importance for the resolution of criminal cases. The presence of forensic experts and technicians, working in accordance with highly formalized protocols, has become indispensable to criminal investigations. Drawing on participant observation within the Moroccan gendarmerie and the analysis of a firearm homicide case, this research examines the dynamics of cooperation and competition among actors. It highlights the interplay between the professional autonomy of crime scene experts and the constraints of military culture on the one hand, and between individual initiative and adherence to established protocols on the other. Within the confined space of the crime scene, reconciling procedural compliance, the primacy of hierarchy, and the necessary independence of field practitioners—such as gendarmes specializing in criminal identification—gives rise to a hybrid model of management. This model rests on a reconfiguration of hierarchical authority, shaped directly by operational imperatives and the continuous pursuit of reliability. Yet this reconfiguration remains contained and disciplined by military culture, which both defines its boundaries and provides its framework. The analysis of the crime scene thus illuminates the relationship between hierarchical authority and professional autonomy: two seemingly opposing logics that, in practice, converge within a hybrid form of collaboration directed toward solving the crime and ensuring the highest possible reliability. |
