Summary, etc. The pandemic put on hold the repatriation of the deceased, the main funeral practice of Moroccans living in Spain. The urgency of finding a burial place in the few Muslim enclosures present in municipal cemeteries fuelled the private initiative to create a cemetery for Muslim communities. The example of the private cemetery in Chiva (Valencia) was a turning point in the Muslim burial model, which Muslim representatives want to replicate in municipal cemeteries. In this context, the possibility of changing the trend of repatriating the deceased to Morocco and opening up the alternative of burial in Spain is open.
