| Summary, etc. | Le présent article analyse, d’une manière singulière, les impacts sociaux-urbanistiques du déploiement de réseaux communautaires sans fil MESH au sein de la ville de Détroit (États-Unis d’Amérique). En rapprochant ces réseaux de télécommunications locaux et participatifs de la notion d’infrastructure inversée (Egyedi & Mehos, 2012) et en les analysant au prisme de plusieurs auteurs qui travaillent les notions de liens ; nous cherchons à comprendre pourquoi ce type de communs infrastructurels, leur construction et leur maintenance est, selon nous, capable de constituer, un « devenir numérique et urbain » à la fois plus éthique, ouvert, durable et inclusif. Nous montrons aussi, tout au long de cet article, que la forme même dont se constituent ces réseaux (décentralisés et pair-à-pair) à Détroit, les raisons qui poussent les personnes à les établir ont un impact sur l’image de la ville, la façon dont la solidarité s’y conçoit. Nous analysons aussi comment s’y projette un certain avenir, bien éloigné des imaginaires industriels que l’on projetait sur Détroit il y a plusieurs décennies. Notre objectif est de comprendre quel est le « devenir-avec les autres » (Haraway, 2020) que dessinent les réseaux MESH de Détroit, qui tissent, sans fil, des liens sociaux entre des habitants. |

| Summary, etc. | This article analyzes, in a singular way, the social-urbanistic impacts of MESH wireless community networks’s deployment within the city of Detroit (United States). By bringing these local and participatory telecommunication networks closer to the notion of inverse infrastructure (Egyedi & Mehos, 2012) and by analyzing them through the prism of several authors who work on notions of linkages; we seek to understand why this type of infrastructural commons, their construction and maintenance is, in our opinion, capable of constituting, a “digital and urban becoming” that is at once more ethical, open, sustainable and inclusive. We also show, throughout this article, that the very form in which these networks (decentralized and peer-to-peer) are constituted in Detroit, the reasons that push people to establish them have an impact on the image of the city, the way in which solidarity is conceived there. We also analyze how a certain future is projected there, far removed from the industrial imaginary that was projected on Detroit several decades ago. Our objective is to understand the “becoming-with-others” (Haraway, 2020) that the MESH networks of Detroit draw, weaving social links between inhabitants without wires. |
