| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article traite des reconfigurations en cours du travail infirmier dans les services hospitaliers de court séjour, en lien avec les nouveaux modes de pilotage et de management des établissements. Ces reconfigurations du travail infirmier sont multiples. Elles s’observent dans le développement de nouveaux types de travail assurés avant et après le séjour des patients. Le travail de soins en service d’hospitalisation connaît également de nouvelles inflexions qui modifient non seulement l’importance relative des différents types de travail mais aussi la définition du travail du patient et de la place qu’on lui assigne dans l’institution. Ces reconfigurations multiformes, et les tensions qu’elles suscitent, renvoient sans doute à la double nature de la temporalité du travail infirmier : le temps-spatialisé et le temps-devenir, temps que l’organisation en place ne permet pas toujours de mobiliser de façon modulée. |

| Summary, etc. | This article addresses the ongoing reconfigurations of nursing work in short stay hospital wards under new modes of hospital steering and management. Such reconfigurations take many forms. They can be observed in the development of new kinds of work, taking place before and after patients’stays. Hospital care work is also undergoing new adjustments that change not only the relative importance of the various kinds of work but also the definition of patient work and the place given to patients in the institution. These multi-faceted reconfigurations, and the tensions to which they give rise, doubtless refer to the dual temporality of nursing work: clock time and process time, which the existing organization does not always allow to mobilize in a modulated way. |
