| Summary, etc. | RésuméVaison-la-Romaine (Vaucluse) est l’une des villes antiques les plus largement dégagées grâce aux fouilles du chanoine Sautel menées depuis le début du xxe s. dans les secteurs de La Villasse et de Puymin. L’étude d’une partie de cette dernière zone apporte un regard nouveau sur son organisation : un sanctuaire précoce (Portique de Pompée), comparable à l’ Augusteum d’Herculanum et à l’Édifice d’Eumachia de Pompéi, jouxte une voie processionnelle qui permet d’accéder, par le biais d’un tunnel, au théâtre et à son probable sanctuaire qui le surmontait. En contrebas de la colline s’étend un quartier artisanal dans lequel a été mise en évidence une meunerie hydraulique (îlot du « nymphée »), rare exemple en Gaule d’un tel aménagement urbain. C’est donc un quartier où se côtoient activités religieuses et artisanales que se propose de restituer cette étude. |

| Summary, etc. | Vaison-la-Romaine is one of the most fully excavated ancient cities because of the programme undertaken by the Canon Sautel at the beginning of the twentieth century, especially in the La Villasse and Le Puymin areas. A new perception of the organisation of the Puymin area can now be proposed: an early sanctuary (Pompey’s Porticus), similar to the Augusteum in Herculaneum and to the Eumachia Building in Pompeii, was located beside a processionnal way leading through a tunnel to the theatre and to the sanctuary built above it. Below, in the artisan district, a water mill can be identified, a rare example in Gaul of such an urban installation. This study reveals that religious and artisan activities were both practised in this part of the town. |
