| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | During his interview, Boris Cyrulnik identifies the event as a basic element of life: without event, there is no life. Referring to his experiences as neuro-psychiatrist and ethologist, he explains that one always seeks for an event. As well for animals, non speaking babies, or any human being, the event is basic for their sensation of being alive. Its representation, widely dependent on the quality of the emotional relationships with those who are close to him/her, produce material changes in the structure of the brain. Two moments must be distinguished: that of the necessity to feel alive, and that of the representation of what has occurred. In order to develop his thought, Cyrulnik refers to a series of examples. These enable him to analyze the process of restoration of the self and to underline the importance of the cultural context. |
