| Summary, etc. | RésuméPeu d’ethnologues ont utilisé jusqu’à présent la photo-interview, pourtant formalisée depuis 1967 par John Collier. Expérimentée auprès de la population japonaise de Toulouse, sur le thème des pratiques religieuses, cette méthode s’est révélée efficace. De cette manière, l’ethnologue a pu recueillir les interprétations et les réactions des immigrés japonais aux photographies qu’il leur a présentées. Les données ainsi obtenues à la lecture des clichés ont été rassemblées puis analysées, permettant de décrypter les systèmes de représentation de cette population. |

| Summary, etc. | Few ethnologists have used until now the photo-interview such as formalized by John Collier as early as 1967. Tested to study the religious practices of the Japanese community of Toulouse this method proved to be very fruitful in that it enabled the ethnologist to collect Japanese immigrants’ interpretations of and reactions to the photographs he showed them. The collected data were then analyzed and permitted to decipher the systems of representation of this population. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungWenige Ethnologen haben bis heute das Foto-interview gebraucht, das schon seit 1967 von John Collier formalisiert wurde. Diese Methode, die hier erprobt wurde, um die religiösen Praktiken der japanischen Gemeinschaft von Toulouse zu studieren, erwies sich sehr fruchtbar. Sie ermöglichte dem Ethnologen die Interpretationen und Reaktionen der japanischen Immigranten gegenüber den ihnen gezeigten Fotos zu sammeln und aus die so erhaltenen Daten die Darstellungssysteme dieser Bevölkerung zu verstehen. |
