520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. In this article, the author looks at one aspect of the reaction of the Princeton theologians against Transcendentalism. She argues that, for the professors of Princeton Theological Seminary, Transcendentalism was both religiously and socially heretical, as well as potentially dangerous since it seemed to rationalize and to encourage much of the social agitation that characterized antebellum America.
