| Summary, etc. | Résumé On assiste à l'heure actuelle à une mondialisation des pensées critiques, c'est-à-dire des pensées qui, sous diverses formes, contestent l'ordre social existant. Cette mondialisation est indissociable de l'américanisation de ces pensées, les universités américaines constituant aujourd'hui leur principal lieu de valorisation et de consécration. Les pensées critiques se caractérisent donc actuellement par un double mouvement de diversification des provenances nationales et d'américanisation de leurs auteurs. C'est ce que nous appelons le « moment américain » des pensées critiques. Nous nous interrogeons ensuite sur la manière dont s'opère la réception de ces pensées critiques mondialisées/américanisées en France. |

| Summary, etc. | Critical thought—which criticizes the social order with varying degrees of radicality —is currently undergoing a process of globalization. Today’s most prominent critical intellectuals are from a great variety of places, most notably the global South. The globalization of critical thought is concomitant with its Americanization, that is with the fact that more and more critical thinkers are based in—or are the products of—the U.S. academe. This is what we call the “American moment” of critical thought. We then reflect on the reception of this globalized/Americanized critical thought in France. |
