| Summary, etc. | Les efforts de Ralph Waldo Emerson et Margaret Fuller pour instituer le Dial en 1840 marquent un tournant dans l’histoire du mouvement transcendantaliste américain. Tel qu’il nous apparaît aujourd’hui, le Dial a surtout permis à Fuller d’en être l’un des contributeurs réguliers, voire l’y a contrainte. Les textes qu’elle a donnés au magazine ont élargi son horizon littéraire et l’ont conduite vers de nouveaux territoires de pensée, ouvrant la voie à ses plus grands succès quelques années plus tard. |
