| Summary, etc. | RésuméLes textes administratifs et autres ressources documentaires incorporés dans trois corpus électroniques d’anglo-normand rendus disponibles récemment permettent une perspective nouvelle sur la variation en français d’avant l’ère moderne. Ils sont capables de nous renseigner sur des aspects importants, diatopiques ainsi que diaphasiques, de la variation en diachronie. Grâce à ces nouvelles ressources, on arrive à rendre compte de l’évolution des tendances sémantico-pragmatiques du lexique français de façon plus complète qu’en suivant les approches traditionnelles qui privilégiaient le développement du francien et du français standard. Il est démontré dans cette étude que les connecteurs pourtant et à cause que pouvaient s’employer en anglo-normand avec leurs valeurs modernes bien avant les dates proposées par les dictionnaires historiques de référence. Les citations nombreuses relevées dans les textes anglo-normands du XIVe siècle offrent ainsi la possibilité de découvrir les débuts des évolutions en sémantique lexicale du français post-médiéval. |

| Summary, etc. | Localised and dated administrative documents and other such textual resources in three Anglo-Norman electronic corpora provide a new perspective on variation in pre-modern French. They may offer insights into important aspects of spatial and register variation across time. These new resources allow a better-informed picture of semantic-pragmatic changes in the history of French to be obtained than is available in traditional approaches favouring the development of francien and standard French. It is shown here that the the connectives pourtant et à cause que appear in Anglo-Norman with their present-day meanings well before the dates proposed in historical reference dictionaries. Frequent data occurrences available from Anglo-Norman texts of the XIVth century will facilitate the investigation of the beginnings of semantic changes in post-medieval French lexis. |
