| Summary, etc. | RESUME Entre les années 560 et 590, un petit groupe d’évêques et d’aristocrates francs entretiennent des relations privilégiées en dehors de tout lien institutionnel. Gogo, régent d’Austrasie (576-581), semble être la personnalité dominante, mais ses contacts s’étendent au-delà des frontières du Regnum Francorum. Un haut niveau culturel est requis pour entrer dans le cercle des correspondants, qui regroupe à la fois des héritiers et une certaine élite de compétence. Ces « amis de Gogo » participent ensemble à des stratégies politiques, diplomatiques et sociales. Toutefois, le groupe paraît dépourvu d’idéologie et sert essentiellement à défendre les intérêts personnels de ses membres. En période de trouble, il s’avère fragile, même s’il parvient à se recomposer lorsque la situation se stabilise. Une telle structure, légère mais performante, permet de mettre à l’épreuve le concept de réseau pour le haut Moyen Âge. |

| Summary, etc. | ABSTRACT Between the years 560 and 590, a small group made of frankish bishops and aristocrats sustains privileged relationships, without them having any institutional bond. Gogo, a regent of Austrasia (576-581), seems to be its main figure, but his contacts stretch beyond the boundaries of the Regnum Francorum. A high cultural level is mandatory to enter this correspondence circle, which regroups both heirs and a new learned elite. Those « friends of Gogo » join together in political, diplomatic, and social strategies. However, the group seems devoid of any ideology and its main purpose is to protect its members’ personal interests. It shows weaknesses in times of trouble, even though it re-forms when the situation gets back to stability. Such a light but efficient structure probes the concept of network in the high Middle Ages. |
