| Summary, etc. | De 1938 à 1940, loin de s’étioler, les organisations socialistes, notamment de jeunesse, ont connu une existence dynamique, marquée par des activités régulières, tant « récréatives » que politiques. Les JS constituèrent une pépinière de futurs militants. L’Isère devint alors un des départements où cette vie des JS fut la plus intense. La mobilisation de l’automne 1939 désorganisa bien entendu ces groupes en les privant de cadres.La guerre approchant, ces Jeunesses socialistes, marquées par un pacifisme dont il faut souligner les différentes nuances, peinèrent parfois à mesurer le danger représenté par la politique de l’Allemagne national-socialiste. Comme leurs aînés, qui les considéraient parfois avec méfiance, ils hésitèrent pour finalement choisir, pour nombre d’entre eux, l’Union sacrée devant l’agresseur, pour la liberté et le droit. |

| Summary, etc. | Since 1938 until 1940, the French socialist organizations, in particular the Socialist Youth Groups, far from languishing, had a dynamic existence. These groups had steady activities, in politics and entertainment and the JS were a nursery of future activists. The county of Isère constituted one of the main regions where this life of the JS was the most intense. The 1939 autumn’s calling up disrupted naturally these groups, by depriving the JS of their means.When the war came nearer, these JS, marked by a pacifism, the various nuances of which it is necessary to underline, sometimes had difficulty in grasping the danger represented by the national-socialist policy. Like their elders, which sometimes considered them suspiciously, the young socialists hesitated to choose and at the end, for many of them, chose “Union sacrée” in front of the aggressor, for freedom and law. |
