| Summary, etc. | Il s’agit des aspects physiologiques, psychiques, voire « métaphysiques » du fait de rire et non, comme chez beaucoup d’auteurs, à commencer par Bergson, des causes du rire, par exemple le comique. À partir du rire sarcastique, on prend en compte une éventuelle culpabilité liée au rire comme « morsure », donc comme source de remords et de névrose. Mais, au-delà de la catharsis négative de type freudien, tout rire apparaît comme renvoyant aux premières figures d’attachement, en particulier au sourire de la mère, comme le dit la 4e Bucolique de Virgile. |

| Summary, etc. | Contrary to what can be found in many authors – most notably Bergson – who are primarily interested in the causes of laughter, for instance the comical, this paper deals with the physiological, psychological, and even “metaphysical,” aspects of laughter. Starting with sarcastic laughter, the likely culpability associated with laughter conceived as a “sting”, hence as a source of remorse and neurosis, is taken into account. Yet, beyond Freud’s negative catharsis, one finds that all kinds of laughter relate to the original figures of attachment, and particularly the smile of the mother, as described in Virgil’s 4th Bucolic. |
