Dans les tribunes des stades, il a permis aux supporters d’être les porte-voix de la revendication nationaliste durant la période coloniale puis les relais de l’opposition au régime du parti-unique après l’indépendance. En 2019, le Hirak, ce mouvement populaire de protestation pacifique contre le régime, a bénéficié de la créativité musicale et de la cohésion des groupes d’« ultras » des grands clubs habitués à se confronter aux forces de l’ordre. Les chants et slogans entonnés dans les stades dès le milieu des années 2010 étaient d’ailleurs annonciateurs du Hirak. |
