Summary, etc. RésuméÀ quelles contradictions l’unité sociologique « établissement scolaire » est-elle exposée dans le cadre du projet institutionnel d’égalité des chances ? L’analyse d’une séquence d’intervention d’orientation psychosociologique dans un collège nous conduit à examiner quelques représentations collectives, dans l’institution scolaire, construites autour du déni de la négativité et de la singularité, autour de l’uniformité des structures d’organisation. Nous formulons l’hypothèse que ces représentations sont des obstacles pour accueillir l’hétérogénéité des publics et participent de cette difficulté à penser la réalité collective d’un établissement d’enseignement et d’éducation comme un ensemble institutionnel ayant à élaborer, au-delà de l’institution qui l’englobe, sa propre problématique de l’autorité, de la loi et de recherche de la justice.

Summary, etc. What are the contradictions which the sociological unit of the school needs to face in the context of an institutional plan of equal opportunities ? The clinical analysis of an intervention of socio-psychological orientation in a secondary school has led us to examine a few collective representations specific to the school, built around denial of negativity and singularity, and around uniformity of organizing structures. We suggest that these representations are obstacles to meet the heterogeneity of populations and pertain to the difficulty to think the collective reality of an education school as an institution which, beyond the structure it is part of, has to build its own problematics of authority, law and search for justice.
